About Our Association

The official registered alumni body of the Department of Chemical Engineering and former Applied Chemistry Department, University of Calcutta. Fostering excellence, professional brotherhood, and student development for over two decades.

Our Legacy & Formation

The Genesis of CUChEAA

Established Dec 7, 2001

D uring the 1970's, pioneering initiatives were taken to form a registered body of the alumni from the then Department of Applied Chemistry. Distinguished teachers and alumni took the responsibility to form organizations such as the Applied Chemistry Alumni Association and Chemical Engineering Alumni Association. These bodies operated passionately, primarily during the organization of Annual Alumni Meets and Reunions.

In the 1990's, renewed attempts were made to formalize the structure, but continuity often waned after the annual reunions concluded. Realizing the vital necessity of a permanent, legally recognized society to safeguard alumni interests and support student advancement, dedicated senior and junior alumni joined forces at the turn of the millennium.

Historic Registration

With wholehearted support from senior visionaries and tireless drafting of the Memorandum of Association by junior alumni, the Calcutta University Chemical Engineering Alumni Association (CUChEAA) was officially registered under the West Bengal Societies Registration Act 1961 on 7th December 2001.
